This redevelopment shows how you can come up with smart solutions using pre-existing characteristic features of a building. This enabled the client to realise the desired transformation into an atmospheric residential building with minimal resources.
The outdated office building 'De Donck' is located in an urban redevelopment area in Den Bosch where there is no longer a demand for office buildings. It was therefore an obvious decision to convert it into housing. Our client was able to achieve the desired transformation with minimal adjustments. The former oriel windows are now balconies, and by painting the lintels the complex has been given a more luxurious appearance. The building was also made more sustainable, so the flats have an energy rating of C. Following the redevelopment, the flat complex contains 66 fully furnished short stay luxury studios and flats with private parking spaces.
