Thanks to a new interpretation and thorough renovation, these historical buildings have been transformed into a modern retail space with seven city houses, while their monumental appearance has also been restored.
The four buildings, located on the Schapenmarkt and Achter het Stadhuis, are part of the historical fabric of Den Bosch. Their monumental and characteristic appearance had been lost- the upper floors had been turned into a dovecote and the monumental façades had been replaced by unattractive shop fronts.
This project shows that scale expansion- the new retail space is approximately 1,065 m2 - doesn't have to compromise the historical, small-scale character of a medieval city.
