Space for housing is increasingly being created in existing buildings. Commissioned by Van den Breemer Vastgoed, we realised ten luxury flats in office building De Hoeve in Houten, without doing too much harm to the building. New balconies, skylights, a revamped façade and large windows with new glass give this 1980s office building on the edge of the residential area a fresh look. The great thing is that with such a transformation you don't just find a new use for an empty office building. It also improves the living environment in the neighbourhood by upgrading an iconic building at the entrance to it," says architect Michael Noordam of VOCUS architects.
