VOCUS architects designed a new residential building against the medieval core of Culemborg. The site where the former post office stood until 2012 is now home to fifteen flats. Architect Bob Custers took care of cadence, a corner accent and especially the 'connection' with the existing building block that is located at 't Jach, the square with the mill. Seen from the windmill, the new residential block logically merges with the adjacent lower residential volume. A play of brick surfaces, balconies and so-called 'set backs' in the façade creates peace and rhythm. The building has space for fifteen owner-occupied flats, spread over three floors.
