The urban ensemble is made up of several concrete blocks which form a unit, but also have their own characters and shapes within the block. The design of the new urban block took into account the different characteristics and scales of the immediate surroundings. On the one hand, the fine-grained scale of the historical, established city centre, with small-scale building plots around the Walplein, the Walstraat and the Gengske. On the other hand, the larger scale around the Molenstraat and the Oostwal.
