There was a shortage of student housing in Breda, so these 42 student homes were a welcome and unique addition to the pre-existing ones. The town's castle, which dates back to 1860, has been transformed into a student housing complex of 16 homes and three new pavilions, with a total of 26 units. These pavilions, surrounding a courtyard, are part of a redevelopment plan with partial renovation and partial new construction on an existing plot. Much effort was made to preserve the monumental 'Beukenlaantje'.
The student pavilions consist of individual rooms with private bathrooms and a large shared kitchen. Each pavilion's kitchen offers a view of the central courtyard.
